Our Power Flow Yoga class is a 90-minute all levels practice. It is directed at creating energy, vitality and freedom within the atmosphere conducive to our natural growth. We work on our bodies sensitively that heals and honors each individual. Power Flow Yoga let us respect our boundaries and works within him or her, not against it.

The course is an eclectic mix of Ashtanga, Hot, and Power Yoga designed to offer a vigorous, cardiovascular yoga practice. We begin in a heated room (approximately 85 degrees) in order to relax and stretch the muscles, prevent injury, and aid in detoxification. The external heat works in combination with the internal flame generated through vigorous movement and breath, which serves to thin the blood and cleanse the body.

We open the class with restorative postures and Pranayama breathing exercises in order to center our practice and remove the pressures of external circumstances and set our intention for the class. We then move into a cardiovascular sequence of postures to create an internal flame and promote detoxification. We continue through a series of standing and balance postures, seated forward bends and back bends, as well as inversions, always focusing on alignment, consciousness, and intention.

Overall, the course serves to build strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. We end the class with Savasana (a guided meditation using corpse pose). Sequences change from class-to-class with the substitution of new and various postures, while maintaining consistency through a core sequence grounded in Surya Namaskara A and B (Salutations to the Sun). All of our courses encourage you to take advantage of the physical as well as the spiritual benefits of yoga by seeing the physical as an opportunity to experience a connection to a greater universal consciousness.

Our Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class is a 90 minutes all levels practice in a warm room(80-85 degree). The asanas are based on the classic traditional postures and are built around dynamic vinyasas (flow sequences) and focused alignment that move one to greater depths of strength and flexibility in an intelligent manner.

Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like. The series of poses move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you an added cardiovascular benefit. The routine practice of vinyasa yoga can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, and reduce levels of stress.

Physically, sweat expels toxins and re-energizes your body. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes your mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout your body.

The practice consists of simple meditation, sun salutations, and variation of deep stretches, back bends, arm balance, inversion poses and relaxation.

With regular practice, it creates light bodies, clear minds, and open hearts.

“Participating in Barefoot Yoga’s Teacher Training Course was one of the best gifts that Robert and Wai-Mei could have shared with me... Upon completion I feel as though I have attained the knowledge and understanding required to help others and share the yoga teachings, as well as cultivated my own founding yogic practices to guide me through the rest of my life. I am so thankful I was able to participate in this program!”
