Nina’s path to becoming a yoga teacher has been meandering and full of adventure. While attending the University of Maryland, she went to her first yoga class at a local YMCA. She left the class with a feeling of peace and intrigue. After college, she was convinced that the world was as wide as it was deep. With that in mind, she spent over a year in China, while being exposed to tai chi, yoga and lots of pool playing. After spending five years in as a high school biology teacher, she decided to pursue a graduate degree in ecology at UC Davis. For Nina, yoga is an avenue to invigorate the body with awareness through breath and movement. Having practiced yoga intermittently for years, she decided to explore yoga on a deeper level by completing a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course at Barefoot Yoga Studio. As a teacher, Nina hopes to share with you a feeling of peace and connection through an uplifting yoga practice.
